Come and learn from Georgia quilter and fiber artist, Denise Russell of Quilted Brain. She has been featured in numerous publications and has a fun class planned for us.
Have you ever wanted to make a piece of quilted something that you can wear? Here is your chance!
In this class, we will take a sweatshirt and make it into a vest you can wear, so when someone asks if you made that, you can proudly say, "Yes, yes I did!"
This class is perfect for beginners and it is just $40.
More information will be posted as far as needed materials, aside from your sewing machine!
While you are signing up with Mary Whitney #509-930-1421 or Cindy Fontaine #425-232-7518, consider also signing up for Denise's Workshop on Thursday, October 22 from 9am-3pm, also at Christ Lutheran Church.
This Workshop will help you take the fear out of making quilts with panels. Denise will help you evaluate the panels brought to class, brainstorm layouts, go over simple math needed when working with panel measurements, and border designs. This is also the focus of her Lecture and Trunk show.
In this class you will learn (and practice): - Which fabric colors should you use around the panel - How to design pieced borders: - Which type of blocks should you use? - How many blocks? - Which fabrics should you use in the blocks? - What to do if the math- or final size of the project your hav min mind- isn't working for the blocks you want to make? - Where to place fabrics and which fabrics to use on straight borders. - How to use panel blocks. - How to use panels with blocks of various sizes
