2026 Trunk Shows and Classes
Presentation and Workshop with Vicki BoddyWednesday, August 19- Scraps to Treasure: Vicki shares, "I've been making quilts from scraps that come from other people for ages and I've let the fabric tell me what to make. Recently, I've given more thought to how I design and why some quilts work and others don't work as well and why making charity quilts is great."
Please join us for our program night at the Harman Center (101 N 65th, Yakima) at 7pm with Quilters Anonymous member, Vicki Boddy. The lecture is free to all YVQG members and $10 to any visitors.
Thursday, August 20- Scraps to Treasure: Perfection is Way Overrated!- Starting with bags of strips (supplied by Vicki), we will play with what one could make from uneven strips. We will talk about the shape of blocks, practice speed-piecing, experience why an even seam allowance might not matter, and explore how curves can happen accidentally. The class is $40 and all the fabric you need will be provided. Only 1 or 2 spots left! Connect ASAP with either Mary Whitney or Cindy Fontaine if you want to attend.
Please bring: Your sewing machine and beloved notions (complete with foot pedal and power cord and power bar/extension cord if you can), any color thread, 2-4 pre-wound bobbins, rulers for cutting blocks (Vicki will bring several shapes- triangles, diamonds, etc), scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat, seat cushion if desired, and most importantly- the energy to create!
The class will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (5606 W Lincoln, Yakima) from 9am to 3pm.
