Through the Eye of the Needle: A Glimpse at Four Centuries of Stitching Influence.
April 19, Non-members pay $10 at the door.
Heidi Thaut, owner of Sugarplum Quilts, repairs, repurposes and refurbishes antique quilts. She has become obsessed with stitching history, studying texts from the US and England for several years. This lecture is a low-tech presentation using seven quilted panels Heidi designed. In this lecture, you will discover how stitching from centuries past influence our quilting today.  She is excited to share bits and pieces of what she has learned through this unique presentation focused on the 1600s to 1930. Her program concludes with a timeline of influences on the rise and fall of quilting popularity from 1820-2020.
