1401 Arboretum Drive, Yakima. "Open A Can of Worms" with our special guest teacher, Debbie Caffrey! Debbie will teach us a variety of techniques based on her books, "Open A Can of Worms" and "Another Can of Worms". Open to YVQG members, cost for the workshop is $50, must be pre-registered and pre-paid as we need to have an accurate count of participants. We will have a "no-host" potluck for lunch!

September 15th-September 22nd Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival
  "Lunar Madness" is the theme of this year's festival. New this year, quilts will be displayed at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds as well as downtown businesses. This year's featured quilter is Nancy Lee Chong, the "Queen of Needleturn". www.wallawallaquiltfestival.org.

flower September 21st, 1 p.m. Uncovering the Social Fabric: Stories from the Making of the Text and Textile Exhibit
  Each quilt has a story, and discovering those stories can be an adventure of research, imagination and creativity. In this lecture, guest curator Lou Cabeen will share her point of inspiration in creating the Text and Textile exhibit, offer an introduction to the quilts on display and talk about the process of researching the stories the quilts reveal.
